Since January 1, 2026, a certificate of achievement is required for any initial application for a Multi-Year Residence Permit (CSP), a 10-Year Resident Card, as well as French naturalization applications by decree or marriage.
What is the official format of the test?
The test takes place on a computer or tablet in a state-accredited examination center. It consists of 40 multiple-choice questions (MCQ) to be completed in up to 45 minutes.
What score is required to pass?
The minimum legal passing score is 32 correct answers out of 40 questions (an 80% success rate). Below this threshold, the certificate cannot be issued.
